The New Materials Center (NMC) in The Foundation of Osaka Science
and Technology Center(OSTEC), Japan has been constructing materials databases
on powder metallurgy, heat-registant alloys and amorphous
alloys during this decade. These databases were independently constructed following
the different formats. Thus it is difficult to use these databases by means
of a common software. There are so many databases constructed
from different concepts all over the world and their formats are in a wide variety.
NMC is now developing a new system for
the document type definition (DTD) in order to realize the common use of different
databases constructed from various viewpoints. This work was carried out as
a project in VAMAS TWA-10(Theme: Computerized Materials Property Data). Outlines
of this project in NMC would be presented at this conference.
