Cyberinfrastructure is now considered crucial not only for advancing scientific research but also for promoting educational activities based on digital contents such as science databases, e-journals and courseware in higher education.
The Cyber Science Infrastructure (CSI) is one such initiative that was launched in Japan , 2004.
In this presentation, the current activities in CSI will be described, focusing on science information sharing and dissemination.
CSI is aiming at a comprehensive framework in which Japanese universities and research institutions are collaboratively constructing an IT-based environment for boosting scientific research and educational activities.
