Generalization and the Semiotics of Complete Information Systems
Horst Kremers, CODATA-Germany, Germany
Syntax, semantics and pragmatics are the basic structures of applied semiotics. Generalization applies to the corresponding fact sets and structures. The relevance of granting consistency of such different levels in information systems to be used in multi-actor / multi-level complex scenarios as in disaster management, early warning and others gives the science of semiotics a chal-lenging role in information systems development, implementation and use.
