China Academic Journals-the flagship of Chinese e-publishing

In mid 90s, the concept of digital library began to spread across the world. As a result, e-publishing business started to appear. In 1995, Tsinghua University founded China Academic Journals Electronic Publishing House to commit to a searchable CD-ROM project named China Academic Journals CD-ROM. Later it transformed the delivery form to the Internet. Since the introduction of China Academic Journals CD-ROM, it has become a symbol of Chinese e-publishing business. This article takes a look at its history, features, and its influence over the academic research in China.
