The JAERI Material Performance Database (JMPD) was developed with a view to
utilizing material performance data efficiently. Data from more than 11,600 test pieces are prepared
for data evaluation in the JMPD. Some kinds of data analyses for mechanical
properties have been performed by utilizing the JMPD. Irradiation Assisted Stress
Corrosion Cracking (IASCC) of austenitic stainless steels in high temperature
water is considered to be one of the key issues for life assessment of the core
internals of nuclear power plants.
In 2000, a national project for IASCC technological development had begun in which JAERI is engaged in the Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) related testing that includes the neutron irradiation at Japan Materials Test Reactor (JMTR) and post-irradiation examinations. The objective is to evaluate IASCC initiation and propagation data necessary for making IASCC database satisfactory to contribute for preparing the maintenance standard against IASCC, which will be used for the assessment of timing and intervals of the inspections of core internals. To store the irradiation condition at JMTR and experimental IASCC data, some data items and functions are added in the JMPD. An example of additional graphical function in the JMPD is shown in Fig. 1. This graph shows time history of the dissolved oxygen content in high temperature water at JMTR. Therefore, users can estimate several
IASCC data based on the irradiation condition data using the graphical function in the JMPD.
This paper describes the present status including additional functions of the JMPD and handling of IASCC data by JMPD.
