It might be mentioned that two of my former coworkers and students are now Nobel-laureates. The one is Gerd Binnig, born 1947 in Frankfurt/M. Gerd Binnig was awarded the Nobel-prize in physics 1986 for the development of the scanning tunneling microscope.. The other one is Horst Störmer, he became Nobel-laureate in physics 1998 for the discovery of a new form of a quantum-fluid with fractionally charged excitations.
