As information visualization makes the jump from 2D to 3D, what comes next? I'll sketch some possible future directions that share a common theme of integrating information with the world around us:

• Augmented reality: Embedding virtual information in the physical world, using see-through displays.
• Wearable/mobile user interfaces: Making information available anytime/anywhere.
• Environment management: Controlling complex, dynamic, shared information environments.
