CODATA Membership

CODATA's membership includes the following:

National Members
National Members include scientific academies, research councils, scientific institutions or associations of such institutions that have activities in scientific data evaluation and compilation. Institutions effectively representing the range of such activities in a definite territory (such as a country) can be accepted as National Members.

International Scientific Unions
Each Scientific Union federated in ICSU which expresses an interest in the scientific data program and a desire to participate in the work of CODATA may become a Member by communicating its intention to CODATA.

Co-Opted Organizations
An international organization involved wholly or predominantly in work covered by the objectives of CODATA and which is associated with or affiliated to ICSU or one of its Unions may become, with approval of the ICSU Executive Board, a Co-opted Member of CODATA.

Supporting Organizations
Any organization supporting the objectives of CODATA may apply to become a Supporting Organization.
